Abberley Preschool

Abberley Preschool is an Ofsted Good preschool for children aged 2 through to school age. We pride ourselves on providing a warm, stimulating, and nurturing environment to allow children to explore, learn, and thrive. The strongest driver for our Preschool is that of moral compass – we care deeply about the happiness of children and creating an environment that nurtures and develops independent thinking. We want children to leave our Preschool as happy individuals with a level of resilience ready to enjoy and thrive in school. We’re passionate about providing an innovative environment offering weekly music sessions, yoga sessions, daily outdoor learning, and weekly cooking club. Opening Hours

Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4.30pm (09:00am -3:00pm being our core hours with additional charges for earlier or later starts/finishes)

Children

Children from their second birthday through to school age are welcome at Abberley Preschool. This includes children who are not yet potty trained.

Meet Our Leadership Team

We have a fantastic Team of committed, enthusiastic and empathetic staff who run Abberley Preschool. They are always available to discuss the progress of your child with you and each child is assigned a key-worker to help them on their development pathway.

Tara McAdam

Manager

Tara joined Abberley Preschool in 2019, as an Early Years Apprentice. Thriving in her role over the last 5 years, and holding the Deputy Manager role from September 2024, Tara has been appointed Abberley Preschool’s Manager from January 2025. Tara is also our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) and Special educational needs co-ordinator (SENCO) (Laura from September 2024), she is also trained in paediatric first aid. As a mum of 2, Tara loves being part of each child’s journey of development, watching them grow and helping them become ready for school.


Tara holds a Distinction - Level 3, in Early Years Education.

Upasana Rai

Early Years Supervisor

Upsana’s passion for children and for Abberley Preschool shows by the fact she has been at the Preschool since 2002! As an Early Years Professional Upsana has many skills and interests which she leverages for the children in her care, including reading, cooking, singing, and gardening. As a mum of 3, Upsana’s passion is seeing children’s happy and smiling faces every day, watching their personalities develop and nurturing their full potential.

Updana holds a Level 3 Diploma in Preschool Practice, Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding.

Sarah Savage

Early Years Level 3 Apprentice

Sarah joined Abberley Preschool in 2023 following a career in social care. Being a mum and stepmum Sarah loves hearing the children’s stories of their families, friends, and the new things they’ve done and places they’ve been, she’s passionate about seeing them progress across all their goals, big and small.

Sarah is studying for her Level 3 in Early Years and has training in safeguarding and paediatric first aid.

Samantha Collett

Early Years Level 3 Apprentice

Sam joined Abberley Preschool in 2023. As a mum of 3 she works hard to help the children grow and loves seeing the smiles on their faces and how proud of themselves they are when they achieve something new.

Sam is studying for her Level 3 in Early Years and has training in safeguarding and paediatric first aid.

Grace Potts

Grace is new to Abberley Preschool. She has joined with a desire and drive to help children develop their imagination, to thrive and to have fun!

I have to say what a wonderful preschool this is! The most amazing staff who always make the boys so welcome and always have enough time to interact and help him develop in all the right areas.
